The Making of Iconic Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich
Pat Olivieri, a hot dog seller and the namesake of Pat's King of Steaks invented the exquisite Philadelphia Cheesesteak in 1930. Pat placed some beef on his grill for a sandwich one day during a lunch break; soon after, a passing taxi driver requested a sandwich as well, and the following grew. Curiously, cheese was not an initial component of this sandwich; it was later added by a manager at one of Pat's restaurants, and the rest is history.

Franklin Square was one of five public squares planned by Philadelphia's founder, William Penn, in his initial concept for the city. It is also said to be the location of Benjamin Franklin's famous kite-and-key experiment, which demonstrated the relationship between lightning and electricity. It is now the ideal location for families to play, see the 180-year-old fountain, and ride the Parx Liberty Carousel.

The oldest theater is in Philadelphia and not England
Many people believe that England has the world's oldest theater, or at least the English-speaking theater. Nevertheless, this is not true; the Walnut Street Theater in Philadelphia is the world's oldest continuously running English-speaking theater. Edwin Booth, John Wilkes Booth's brother, owned the theater.
